Smashed ipad screen - arghhhh - how do I keep it private?!

My DC managed to smash my ipad 4 screen today. I'm devastated? The glass has shattered. I've looked at Apple and they charge over £250 to replace. Apparently local shops do them ok..... Anyhow.... I was wondering - how can I protect all my apps and safari when they are repairing it? I've saved payment details and passwords for some websites

Install iExplorer onto your pc. connect the ipad to the pc once installed, and with this you should be able to access the things you need to move.

Is it usable enough to back up then erase all your data?

Thanks, just the glass is smashed but is readable underneath - not flickering or blurred

I've just backed up, is there a quick way to erase everything?
