Car headrest mount for an iPad with Griffin Survivor case

... otherwise known as the moon on a stick :).

Our iPad is heavily used / abused by the children, so we keep it in one of those military-style thick rubbery Griffin Survivor cases. They're very fiddly to get in/out, so not something you'd want to do on a regular basis.

The thing is, I'd like to attach it to the car headrest for a long journey we've got coming up, so that we can deploy Postman Pat in an emergency. But I haven't yet seen a mount that I could use with the enormous case.

I can't be the only person with this problem - perfect case for kids, obvious solution for car journeys with kids - has anyone else found / used a suitable mount, please?

So, I'm guessing there probably isn't a dedicated mount you can buy for this purpose, but have you considered making one?

We have a solution which DW very cleverly devised for our tablet. Essentially, we took a soft netbook case (cheap from Tesco), cut a viewing hole out of one side and stitched in a sheet of plastic (like you'd get on a map case or transparent pencil case). Then on the back, stitched a strap (which happened in this case to be the strap off a Bumbo) which forms a sort of T-shape to hang over the headrest. The whole thing cost less than a fiver to make.
