Do you use google+ ?

Trying to wrap my head around it, as work HQ have decided that we must use google+ in order to reach our target group.

I don't use google+, neither do any of my friends or family, unless they have to do it for work.

Do any of you actually use google+ ? And if so, what for?

No. No work demands to use it so this is purely personal.
I have invites to link up but I hate the idea, so have ignored them. I find it too intrusive and I really don't like this business of everything linking everyone together.

No. It just didn't take off at all. I don't know anyone who uses it.

Yes, I do. Only because my parents and in laws are gmail users. They won't sign up for any social network, but google signs them up automatically for google+. So I upload family photos there, and let google send them notifications to check them.

Thanks, ladies. I keep trying to tell my boss that nobody uses it and how I personally don't want everything linked conveniently.

It seems to be another one of those cases where I'll just do as I'm told... And in a few months time I will bite my tongue and not say "I told you so!"

Yes. I use it. Is much better than eg facebook. The only issue is that it doesn't have a massive user base yet. Most eg tech companies are on it.

Google + isnt a social networking site. Its more of a front end to manage all your google products, youtube, gmail, blogger,adsence etc...

a while ago you were forced to have one for every gmail account, now when you sign up to a google product it will default a google plus page, or you can create a google plus page and attach other google products / accounts to it.

It can get tricky to manage if you used the products but not the + page, if you start with a plus page, it can be easier, its complicated and sometimes not possible to move or merge google products associated with plus pages.

in the states its a different ball game, there are personal and business pages and its quite popular in that respect. If you google search for business it will return the google plus page over the business website.

We all use it for one reason and one reason alone. It's supposed to help my website rank better on Google searches.

That's it really. I don't think any one else actually uses it for keeping in touch with others like we would with Facebook. It's just to give us a little bump in rankings.

Assuming your company website is already fairly well ranked I'd just avoid it for now.

Pinterest on the other hand.........
