My DB has recommended installing MacKeeper as our Mac needs a good old clean up. He's a Technical Director so I assume he knows what he's doing.

However there's all sorts of doom & gloom on Apple sites about MacKeeper. I wondered if anyone had any bad experiences or is all the bad press just based on hearsay?

What do you need to have cleaned up? If it's apps then just drag them to the trash.

If it's data and you aren't sure where everything is then you can use a program like JDiskReport to find where all the crap is so you can delete it. That's what I use anyway.

Other than that one of the things I do love about my mac is that it's just as quick a year or two on as it is when I first got it. It doesn't seem to get slower month by month like a PC does.

Thanks nice guy. Our Mac has got incredibly slow last few months. Will have a weed through the Apps as we probably have a load of games the kids don't use any more.

Will try the JDiskReport you mentioned too.
