DD forgot the lock code for her phone - now locked out

She changed the lock pattern and has had too many attempts. It won't recognise my gmail account. Any thoughts ?

you can hold the power/home/volume up key on samsungs and then select factory reset to wipe the phone and any locks on it, i think you can with most models, look on youtube for how to videos

Thanks, will try that but won't do her any harm to have to wait a few days !

Unfortunately neither that (phone says rebooting but still goes to locked screen) nor trying to use Samsung Kies (device not detected) has worked. Looks like we dd will have to pay £20 to CPW.
