11yo dc's gmail account deleted

Dc2 has just had his wifi turned back on on his ipad after a week's ban. As part of resetting it all I have tried to reinstall the email.

Dc1&2 have both had gmail accounts for several years. They were set up before Google+ and I think it unlikely I would have lied about their ages if that was a requirement at the time.

It now appears that dc2's account has been deleted and after a bit of searching, I think it is because we didn't see the email asking for age verification. Which we probably wouldn't have done anyway but it would have given us the chance to save contacts, email grandparents and save old emails.

Dc2 is still only 11 though so can anyone recommend a children's email please as I assume we will hit the age13 barrier repeatedly.

There isn't a child's email.

If you have internet through someone like BT, you can set up accounts for minors, which in general general means that you'll get his emails delivered to you too. They do reserve the right to close accounts belonging to people under 16, but I've never known them to do it.

DC4 had this and I was so upset and annoyed - especially as it was [email protected] which is getting harder and harder to get. And all those sweet early badly-spelt emails directing me to things he wanted for birthdays just gone for ever.

Ah ok, we are with Utility Warehouse so I'll have look at their website and see what I can find.

Would it be along the lines of "[email protected]' that I would be doing them? Not an issue, just been thrown by this as it's all ticked along nicely for so long!

Thank you

hassled that's it - emails from the now deceased grandads and from school friends from where we used to live (which is why we set them up originally).

ThatMan all sorted! thank you Smile.

It didn't ask for dob, mention minors account or suggest it would forward emails to me but I have added the account to my ipad so can keep an eye on spam etc.
