windows 8 stupid big clock- how do i stop it popping up all the time?

It's connected to the charms bar and seems to be something to do with the touch pad. I've turned off left and right swipe but the bloody clock pops up all the time. It's massive and takes over the screen and is driving me round the twist.

Any ideas? I can't find a anything online except something to do with the programming which I do not want to touch.

Could you just check Control Panel>Clock, Language and Religion>Date and Time>Additional Clocks and see whether you've got anything ticked there? (And untick if so.)

Haha! I hadn't noticed the typo! I'll try that again but I've been all through that. It's so annoying!
