My latest obsession has been my filofax and bullet journal methods.

Anyone fancy joining me in FF & BJ ShockGrin talk?!

Do i need a filofax to sort out my chaotic life?

SummerSazz · 04/06/2014 22:49

I love my Filofax and use it all the time but I'm not sure I could chat about it Grin

FiloFunky · 04/06/2014 22:52

I used to be an FF lover but I moved to the dark side outlook calendar and an iPhone Grin it is actually awesome if you use it correctly and your phone and email is all synced automatically

FiloFunky · 04/06/2014 23:06

Ooh, me me me! I have a personal red Chameleon for my diary, financial stuff and as my purse. I then have a cheapy black plastic one (not sure of the name-it has a band round the middle and was about £15 I think) for all my lists, plans, goals and important info. I love my Chameleon and wish I'd bought another while they were still easily available.

I hear the excitement of a true FF fan

I have the a5 Holborn - I call him Franklin or Frankie for short!

But what does a ff do? My life needs order. How can a ff give me this?

FiloFunky · 05/06/2014 07:10

You have your FF. And you buy all the prettiest things to put in it!

You organise by month, week and day. Lists. Checkboxes (sooo satisfying to check off the tasks)

My FF is my brains dumping ground. Everything I think goes in it and I refer back to it.

I use the same one for work and personal (due to my on call duties when at home) and it's really helping me be more productive (and allows me to buy (more) pretty things!)

Hawkeye it's just a diary but you can personalise it to include whatever's most helpful for you to be organised. So in my main one I have:

Month to view-this has all my tuition sessions hilighted and I also mark on it whenever we're away, so it basically functions as a work calendar
Year to view-this has DH's holiday marked on it
Birthdays-I add whenever a baby's born and put the year too, so this is a perpetual list
Day to view-this is where I put in appointments, plan lessons etc. I use the right hand side of each page as a to do list.

Between each month in the day to view section I have a to do list for the upcoming month, so I write in 'pay car insurance' or whatever and then when I get to the month in question I can see what needs to be done that month and assign it to a day.

I also have a finances section where I keep a running tally of how much we've spent of our various budgets-eg gas, elec, petrol, clothes. I keep last year's in there too so I can compare easily.

At the very front I have some card slots (on a plastic wallet so in addition to the leather ones). The leather ones hold bank cards and driving license while the plastic ones hold loyalty cards, vouchers, stamps, a couple of blank cheques etc.

Ohhh me!

I have a cuban Filofax at the moment, but looking for a Balmoral (think it's discontinued). Almost bought a Temperley one because I love the designer, but resisted.

My mission in life is to find Filofax paper that takes fountain pens without bleeding to the back.

I even have filofax blogs in my Feedly feed. Blush

PoppyAmex · 26/07/2014 19:33

I have dozens of accessories, wishy tape, plastic pockets, Martha Stewart stickers, dividers.... I'm a geek.

mineofuselessinformation · 26/07/2014 19:41

Does anyone know where I can find downloadable Pocket note pages?
I've downsized and have the personal size template. Smile

FiloFunky · 26/07/2014 21:41

Have you seen DIY fish life mapping inserts?

I have a lovely raspberry leather Finsbury. It is A4. I moved from the personal size as I couldn't get everything on the diary pages and it felt like I needed week to view.

It is too large to carry about, so I use an A5 spiral bound book for my to-do and a 'diary' for the next 8 days inc to-dos for certain days.

I have carried a personal filofax around for years as my address book confirms.

Feels weird not having it on me all the time, but enjoy my Finsbury when at home Smile

Lemonylemon · 07/08/2014 14:56

I still have my FF which I was given in 1987... How sad is that?!

PixieofCatan · 07/08/2014 15:00

I love FFs, I have 6, the one in use at the moment is a Peru Personal size, I have an A5 Raspberry Finsbury too which I used as a desk journal for years but it got a bit bulky to carry around for work :(

I only use it for my diary though, very handy!

What's a bullet journal?

PixieofCatan · 07/08/2014 15:01

My calendar type diary, not a personal write-a-record-of-each-day type diary.

homeeddays · 01/12/2014 09:59
