Hi, hoping I might be able to get a few ideas here.
My DM really needs a new phone as is struggling to use her own. She has some impairment to cognitive function so technology can be challenging for her and it needs to be very straightforward.
All she needs is phone and text functionality with a good contacts list and very straightforward layout. She could possibly be persuaded to use a couple of apps like bbc news if we set it up for her but she finds the internet difficult so this isn't a priority.
Her own phone is a tiny old Nokia, one of the types where the only thing that mattered was being small and it's not actually very intuitive to use.
Ideally, we would like something where each button does what it says it will (like an app), rather than taking you to several options / screens depending on which corresponding screen tab you select.
She doesn't have too many problems in the way of eyesight / motor function.
My inclination is to get a simple smart phone and customise it so that it only has the basics she needs, but this seems like it would be quite an expense when all we need is an easy to use phone.
Any experiences or recommendations (including don't buys) appreciated. Thanks in advance x
