DH needs to send large photos using email. He uses Thunderbird. Because of changes to UbuntuOne he can no longer do it - something to do with Google as well, but he's not very computer literate and just gets frustrated when trying to tell me what he wants and what is happening and what used to happen.

He has downloaded Dropbox but it's no good.
He has downloaded YouSendIt and that is no good.
He has downloaded Box and that is no good.

The guy he's sending the photos to needs to be able to download them, edit them, send them to clients etc.

What is the simplest way around whatever it is that has happened which has made UbuntuOne no longer do what he wants?

Hi, try this:-

support.google.com/drive/answer/2424384?hl=en
which is an overview of Google Drive. Ubunt is shutting down by the way.

Ah, that's what they're doing! Thank widowerbutok, it wasn't at all clear in between the spluttering and rage and frustration from dh what the problem actually was! I shall go read that link now.

Have read it, and it looks like it does pretty much what Dropbox does. It's not clear whether sharing involves another person being able to access your photos to edit etc though. That is apparently the important bit!

We have got as far as links to photos on Box I think which can be downloaded, but there have to be 6 different links if he's working on 6 photos so the recipient has to go back and forth between email and browser and 6 different tabs. He wants to be able to send one link and the recipient to be able to access all the photos from that one link, not necessarily in a browser, but if so then definitely one tab which would work like pictureviewer, say, with a next button.

I had thought something like Picasa where you can link to an album and set who has access to it, but you can't download and edit from there.
