How do I connect a smart tv to the internet?

I have a Samsung tv and have just bought the dongle to connect to the internet.

However, I can't get it to hook up to the internet.

Can anyone give me a step by step, Noddy guide to getting this to work?

This isn't going to be terribly helpful but I think when we did ours it had onscreen instructions? Somewhere in the menu? Also check your wireless router is actually on, ours crashes quite a bit.

We've done all that. We've even re-booted!

We get stuck when we enter the password for the rooter. For some reason it isn't recognising it.

Tomorrow we'll try doing it with the modem closer in case it's the signal.

Not tonight, though, we're needing to take a break!

Are you sure the password is correct. Lower/uppercase in the right places... I spend fecking days trying to connect something to the net. I was on the verge of changing the password, but was reluctant because of various devices, when I was reminded that I had recently changed the password lol.

Also if it's a smart tv, why do you need a dongle? THat could be the issue. Have you tried connecting to the net without the dongle?

Did you manage to connect via wifi? If not have you tried physically connecting your tv to your router with an Ethernet cable?
