are ipod nano's any good?

I've been given one as a gift and I can't see the point in keeping it. I already have an adorable teeny ipod shuffle for running and can finally upgrade to an iphone in Sept.

Once I have an iphone and my desired running apps then a nano will be obselete won't it . As far as I can tell it has music, photos (but no camera?), videos and podcasts. I won't run without a phone so I'd have to take an iphone and and nano with me, which is daft.

Feeling a bit guilty because my dsis has never spent so much on me and I'll probably come across as an ungrateful cow.

I have a shuffle but its been consigned to a drawer ever since I got the nano. Its smaller & lighter than an iphone & if it flies out of your arm holder it won't smash into a million pieces like an iphone would. Plus even if it does, its a lot cheaper than an iphone to replace.

There is the Nike app that links in to MFP but I don't use it so no idea if its good.
