If I back up my ipad will it also save the apps?

Hi, basically I want to do a factory reset on my DD's ipad mini but she has flappy birds on there and does not want to lose it! If I back ip up via itunes will it also save the apps or just photos etc? Thanks!

If you've bought (or downloaded for free) apps then they'll be in the cloud, ready to download again (not sure if this works for games that are no longer supported, like flappy birds, mind). Saved game settings will be lost, though, so she'll have to start from scratch.

You will have to back up the photos manually.
