iPad air vs LG G Pad

Hi, hope someone can help me with some objective advice. I'm after a tablet and am wondering about one of these 2 - it's a big spend item for us so I want to get it right. I have an iPhone and feel slightly aggrieved by ££ and iTunes associated with apple products but I lurrve them. The LG model seems good too and has good comments on build and I like the idea of parental controls. Which would you recommend? Would a Samsung tablet be a better option? Thanks in advance.

The LG is an 8.3 inch tablet and the iPad is 10 so difficult to know what to suggest without knowing what you're really after.

Either way you are probably better off with a Samsung or, if you're after something smaller, a Nexus 7.

The iPad, as you have correctly identified, whilst being attractive, is ultimately overpriced and frustrating.
