i need a new printer, can you recommend anything.

Not too pricey, just reliable and with fairly priced inks.

I have a canon pixma 460, and it's been nothing but pretty rubbish. Lines, ink everywhere, and now faded prints even though i have bought new cartridges.

i want to spend no more than about £70.

or any advice for the faded prints. thankyou

I asked this question in cartridge works yesterday. Apparently he would recommend a brother sth or other about 65 from him. Wireless. Great use of ink etc.
sorry I'm not at all useful with this kind of stuff but I was quite impressed by his knowledge

a monochrome laser printer is very much cheaper to run, and mine last for years and years.

I changed from inkjets to laser printers a while ago and I wouldn't change back. You would need to up your budget a little, but you can get a colour laser from £99.

hi that one, it says you've no slot for a memory card and no borderless printing?

is the quality much better than inkjet at this price? someone lined to an inkjet at a similar price here.

The quality difference to an inkjet, probably wouldn't be huge. A laser won't do photo quality printing, but the print is likely to be good enough for most purposes.

The major advantage of a laser printer is that it will be largely trouble free. You can leave it unused for months and it will just work when you need it where an inkjet would probably clog. Toner cartridges are quite expensive, but they will last for ages. I only change my colour cartridges around every 2 years and the black cartridges roughly annually, so the overall costs are quite low, but it can be quite a shock if you have to change a whole set at once.

cost per copy is far, far, far, far less with a laser printer.

I would not get a Kodak (inkjet). Very high ink turnover and print quality on ours isn't great, despite supposedly being brilliant for photos.

Avoid kodak hero, one of the worst things I have ever bought. Can't wait for it to die!

do you NEED to print in colour, or would black on white do?
