Battery failed while DD was playing Duck Life!

Thought I was going to cry Laptop won't work unless it's plugged in - it's 8 years old Acer. But while DD was playing on it yesterday the battery died - checked all the connections and everything was plugged in normally but battery life went down and it crashed. Unplugged everything and left it for the day - plugged it back in that night and it was fine.

Can anyone explain why this may have happened? Was it the game? or just a coincidence? I've never had any problems with it before - any ideas?

Unlikely to be the game. Battery life should not go down while the charger is plugged in. From the description it is most likely to be a problem with either the battery (could be about to fail completely) or the charger.

Thanks prh - It's been fine last night and tonight but will see if it happens again - have banned dd from playing games on it for the foreseeable!
