Hello, Can anyone help me choose a smart phone. I'm a blackberry fan having had one for 4 years or so.I like the query keyboard for email (its not essential )but want a bigger screen than my BB 9790. My requirements are something that will survive being dropped daily, long battery life, decent camera, easy for email and web browsing, and able to view documents e.g. PDFs, excel, powerpoint. Thanks

I suspect what you need is a decent smart phone and a really tough case such as the otterbox that is being recommended for kids using ipads.

By a qwerty keyboard so you mean physical buttons? If so I'm not going to be much help. But if you mean a good on screen keyboard (try the phones out in a shop and particularly rotate them to landscape for a bigger keyboard) then the following would fit your other requirements.

Galaxy note and it's variations if you like a bigger "phablet" phone- the stylus is great too.

Phone like and "best bang for buck" nexus 5

Cheapest option that is being highly rated ( Not 4G though if that matters) is the moto G and maybe if you think you'll break it this is the one to go for LOL

BTW I don't think any smartphone that will do all the things you want it to and do them well will have a brilliant battery life as they all need a biggish screen.

If you really want to not have a case AND drop your phone daily then a galaxy Y is the one for you. The kids have this. THe back drops off and the battery falls out when you drop it but 2yrs down the line DS still has an intact screen and a functional phone ! he treats it badly! Sadly it is not a fuilly functioning smart phone!
