Outlook password

I'm trying to sort out my upgraded iPhone, but I can' together emails because it demands my Outlook password and none of my usual passwords work. Any ideas about the best way to recover it? I see there are various password recovery programmes, but I'm a bit wary of installing something that isn't tried and tested.

Cancel that, I've found it. But if anyone knows why, despite that, and despite re-syncing, it stillwon't connect with Outlook, you could save my sanity.

Don't you get your emails via your ISP? Or google? The only time my emails end up in outlook are when I am using my PC. My smartphone and ipad just pools all my emails in one place.

I thought outlook was purely a piece of windows software.

There is also outlook.com which is a free online email service run by Microsoft.
