Spotify is annoying me, Is there an alternative?

I currently subscribe to spotify, it costs £9.99 a month which is fine.
a few of us access it from our phones within the family.

my problem is when i am out, as soon as i drop the wifi or 3g the music stops.
It's really annoying.

I like to listen to music when i walking the dog but im constantly having to change back to itunes because spotify has stopped.

Is there another product/app i can use that will keep playing out of 3g range?

Spotify streams music from the internet. If you've no internet connectivity via 3 or 4 g, or wifi, or a long wire you can't stream.
The only other option is to have the music on your phone and play it from there.

You can download your play lists so you can listen to them without a connection. Just make a play list and then click download play list at the top.

Deezer is an alternative and I've found it quite good so far but I haven't tried it without wifi

You need spotify premium, then you can download offline playlists. Otherwise yes it is a streaming service.

I pay £9.99 a month for spotify and am able to downloads playlists to play when I'm offline so the option should be there.
I have used it when campomg in the wilds with no phone signal.

If you're paying you have premium so you be able to download playlists.

I gave up on spotify after the free trial. I use an app called viatube, it's on my iPad not sure of android. Basically you can cache youtube videos and keep them, I cached a few albums and listen like a normal album.

I do have premium but I find it does cut out a lot when out of range.
I make the playlist available offline, it will play a couple of the songs then just give up.

You need to make it available offline permanently (ie don't switch it on and off) and do it at home so it has time to download on your wifi. If you make it available offline when you are out, it will download over 3g and stop when you lose signal.

Goldfinch ops, how do you use the viatube app? Do you download videos via the viatube app or via youtube? I just downloaded the viatube app to my ipad but can't see any instructions on it!

Even if you have a premium subscription only one device at a time can access it. Not sure how this works if you're trying to listen downloaded/offline songs but if somonelse tries to access at the same time it will freeze one of them.

I am now making sure the playlist I want is fully downloaded before I leave the house

Selks- it took me a while to work it out too. You use the app the same as YouTube, I think you can log in to your YouTube account but I'm not sure, I don't have one myself. Search for and select the video you want, and as it's playing there is a plus sign at the top. Click that and then a playlist, there is a default one to start with, then the icon that looks like a floppy disc, well sort of, and it will say 'video successfully added'. Then it will download as anything would.

When at 100% it will be available offline, when you open the app offline it says not available or something but the playlist will be there on the side to open and watch or listen. I have one full album and several actual vids I keep to watch. Several hours worth! I have two playlists, you can rename them. Only thing is, the list is in the order you download them so if you do it in the wrong order you're stuck with it. You can delete, but not move them which is odd.

Pretty sure you're allowed around 9,999 tracks, split across up to 3 devices, on Spotify Premium, so that should hopefully allow for enough variety :)
