New version of Android driving me insane!

Predictive text is very useful - but even with auto-correct turned off, the bloody phone is still auto-correcting. It is driving me up the wall! If I type something it doesn't recognise, sometimes the option I want isn't even on the list - and then it's auto-correcting to its best (wrong) guess.

Samsung note 2.

Try turning off the Auto Replace option in the keyboard settings. That will stop it from picking incorrect words.

Alternatively you could install a 3rd party keyboard like SwiftKey.

I had turned auto replace OFF.... that's why it was driving me mad! I have now also restarted the phone and turned auto replace ON (for the first time!) and then OFF again, and then restarted again and checked that auto replace was still OFF.

It is finally behaving.
