My cat has done something to the printer/scanner/copier - again!

Every so often, my cat sits on top of the Canon Pixma (MG6350) printer/scanner/copier and presses something and the touch screen function completely stops working.

This has happened about 4 times now. Mysteriously, the touch screen starts working again some weeks later - possibly because my techno-cat cleverly does something else to return the function. I'm never there to see what he does but all I know is that suddenly the machine begins to work again.

I've tried everything to get the printer touchscreen to work myself but as you can only fix it, by using the touch screen - when this doesn't work, you basically can't fix it.

Can anyone tell me what my cat is doing that keeps stopping it working and if there's anyway I can get the touchscreen to work again? Right now, it'll only copy from the PC print function but you can't scan and print or copy and print and I need it for work - like today!

This is purely a guess, but it might possibly be static-electricity from its fur, so that when the static has discharged the functions come back.

Is there not a 're-boot' or reset to factory settings feature? Surely a Canon users' forum, or official Canon help-site will know more than MN.

No idea but I do sympathise - my cat is obsessed with my printer. Or at least she was until dd got a furby, that is her new love now!
What is it with cats & printers?
