BIG party tomorrow.

playlists took fking ages to do.

just realised my output doesn't work Shock so can't connect to the PA. (headphones don't work either).

home sharing won't work as can't get reliable wifi in the dining room.

pleease, how do I get my library on to his computer??

we're both macs, but mine is a bit older.

heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

Sorry cant help but I want to move our too and would love to know how.

ThermoLobster · 20/12/2013 22:12

Well you can do a back up from a PC onto a CD but no idea how you would do the equivalent on a mac. Can you not use an ipod to transfer it?

LowLevelWhinging · 20/12/2013 22:13

I need to transfer not just the library, but the playlists. that's the important bit.

ultimately we need to have a shared library.

but mine has all the good stuff at the moment!

Have you tried the apple forums?

ThermoLobster · 20/12/2013 22:28

If you do a back-up, it all transfers. I have done it to make a cd for a wedding and when we got a new pc. It condenses the files right down so you can put them on a storage device such as a CD. Do you have cloud storage?

Are you on the same Apple ID ? If not afaik you can't move your iTunes to him as it would overwrite all his iTunes and lose it... Can you not get a wireless booster or one of the plug in systems that uses your internal electrical system to transfer your broadband devolo for example then you have a linger term solution for poor wireless there ?

thanks for your suggestions y'all.

we have all the wifi boosty stuff and still can't get reliable wifi in the dining room, grrrr.

anyhoo, in the end we used an external hard drive to share the library. I had to deauthorise some old computers. Worked for our purposes.
