My DBIL loses his phone constantly. We bought him a whistle keyring for his keys so he can find them, but now the issue is with the phone! Hmm

Has anyone seen something like the keyring that can clip to your phone?

Thanks?

If he leaves his phone turned on, it has its own built-in ringer. Just dial his number and follow the noise.

If only life was so simple Grin

Problem is that he is a teacher so the phone is almost always on silent; he then comes in, dumps the phone and loses it. We've tried giving him a bowl etc but that doesn't work!

This is the next logical step!

Depending on what his phone is, there may be a solution...

A Sony Xperia Tipo (Android smartphone) is around 50-80 quid, and on Ebay there's a guy in Belfast selling off the (slightly old) Sony Ericsson MN800 watch, prices as low at 10-20 pounds plus 3.50 delivery. When they launched they were well over 80 quid.

The phone is able to signal new text messages to the phone (have not tried this, switched network so no working SIM in use this minute) and you can also install an app on the watch called 'find phone'. Even when the phone is on vibrate, using the 'find phone' causes it to 'ding' repeatedly, until cancelled. I tried it just now to prove it works...

There's a limit of about 30 feet (because it uses Bluetooth link between watch and mobile) but it might be a solution although admittedly this might need a different mobile from that in use.

The software is meant to work on most any Android after v2.2 but I know it works well with the Sony, but if he already has an Android this may work for him...

Know he's running an HTC at the moment. Most of the issue is that his battery dies, when he loses the phone hence the looking for a non-phone option.
