Docking stations

I have an old docking station that I used with my old iPod nano. I now have an iPhone 5. Is there an adapter that will fit in the old docking station, or should I just get a new docking station. If so, do you have any recommendations?

Apple are clever aren't they. New phone = new docking station too! ££££

Hmm, thank you. Does it sound right if I get a 30 pin to 8 pin adapter? Am completely clueless!
