I posted this in chat then remembered there was this section, any help would be very gratefully received: :)

I was trying to be naughty and get the US netflix site. I have no idea what I was doing as I'm rubbish with technology, so was following step by step instructions from a stupid friend.

I have now changed my DNS code several times and when ever I try and access netflix I get a site redirection to playmo.tv.

What on earth have I done?! How do I get rid of it? What is it?! Have I broken the internet forever???!!

I'm sorry for trying to be naughty, I really promise that this has put the shitters up me taught me a lesson.

Help anyone?!

What do you mean by "my DNS code"? Do you mean the address of the DNS servers you're using?

Hadmeathello · 29/11/2013 20:58

If you just delete the new codes it will automatically revert to the old ones.

Hadmeathello · 29/11/2013 20:59

What device?

sillymillyb · 29/11/2013 21:01

Oops sorry, I just came back on line - it was on my pc, I have tried deleting the dns code (yes the address of the dns server) but it is still linking to the playmo site.

Thank you all for your help, sorry I missed out so much info. I have no idea what I am doing or really what I did!

Have you tried deleting the codes, leaving it blank then restarting the PC. This should work.

sillymillyb · 29/11/2013 21:07

oooh there was some restarting going on, but not after deleting codes I don't think (I lost track) Will try that now, thank you so much. I will hopefully be reporting back asap with a fixed computer!

You don't need all the guilt - it's fine to change your DNS if you want to! I watch US Netflix all the time!

You have probably clicked or unclicked a box somewhere to stop your PC obtaining DNS/IP addresses automatically, and that's why it's not going back to your original one, I'm on a tablet so can't talk you through it.

And try tunlr Grin

sillymillyb · 29/11/2013 21:15

It worked, wooohoooo!!! THANK YOU!!!!

brian I totally shit myself as I read a warning saying netflix would ban you and stuff, then when it was denying me access I was convinced I'd been blacklisted and broken something vital.

Anyway, tunlr you say.... I shall go have a look see now, thank you :D

Happy to oblige. I'm not at all techy however I do have some experience with DNS settings and American netflix Wink
You can also use unblock us or blockless but they cost around £3 a month to use.
