Can I zip files that I've done on pages (iPad?)

I'm not very techy at all. I can manage basics.

I've done a document on my iPad that I need to email to work. It's a one page document and has got 4 pictures in it (that I took on the iPad).

I can't get it to send to any email address (have tried it as a PDF and word file) so I'm wondering if I could zip it would it go?

Any ideas and help would be gratefully received.

Drat. How am I going to get it to work?!

I'm surprised it won't email, I do this a lot.

Have you got a Dropbox or Google drive account? If so upload it to there.

Or put it in the cloud and access it that way.

Or, if it's just the pictures you need email them separately.

What error do you get when you try to email it?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 26/11/2013 22:33

Thanks for the replies.

No I haven't got Dropbox or google drive accounts (don't know what they are to be honest!)

If it's in the cloud I have no idea how to get it from work (NHS).

If I try to email it it just stays in my outbox and then goes red.

I really am very technically inept (swore I would never be as bad as my parents who couldn't programme the video!)

When you have the pages doc open can you see a box with an upward pointing arrow at the top of the screen?

ThistledownAndCobweb · 26/11/2013 22:39

If so, press that, and provided you have set up iCloud it will generate a. Link to the document that you can use from your work computer

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 26/11/2013 22:45

No, there's no box with an arrow at the top of the screen Confused

The error message says "sending he message content to the server failed"

I've tried mine and a colleagues NHS email accounts and DH's non NHS email account with no joy.

Not to worry. I'll print it out here for now so that I can solve today's problem. It would have been handy to have this at work to tweak in the future though.

If you set up iCloud in your ipad you should be able to share the link.

Or any cloud based service like Dropbox, Copy, google drive or Box would allow you to share this easily.

You'd just upload the file from your ipad and then access it via a browser on your work computer.

Most NHS desktops that I'm aware of are locked down for stuff like Dropbox anyway. Email was probably your best bet for getting the file over to your work machine. Can you email other things from the iPad? Is it just this thing that fails?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 28/11/2013 21:43

Yes, just this that's failed.

I've given up now but thanks for your help.
