Different back for my new phone or gel case?

Which do you think is more protective in case of dropping? I am thinking gel.

Hi - If you want the ultimate in protection get an armoured phone case such as a Griffin Survivor....For cool looks and style (but obviously not for much in the way of protective value) I like the latest real wood cases.

I've got a cheapo 'tortoise' gel case from tesco - it has saved my iPhone many times from certain death on hard floors.

I quite fancy a nice patterned gel case for Christmas actually...
