windows 8 update

I have just updated windows 8 on my acer aspire one
It is much better, it was ridiculously sensitive and not so now but - I am not sure of the correct name of it- the slide bar? on my control pad no longer works
the bit that lets you move up and down the page with one finger so I have to either use the arrows or click on the slide on screen at the side
Anyone know how to bring it back to life?

it might be a driver problem - go into Settings, PC Settings, then PC and Devices and look for touchpad/trackpad on the list, then click on it and check it is all enabled properly. It might also have a sensitivity setting, which you may need to turn back up a bit if it seems a lot less sensitive than before.

If that doesn't work, go to the acer support site and see if there are updated drivers for your model.
