1 minute ipad video is 249Mb! How do I compress it

I always have problems with videos! I took a quick 1 minute video on my ipad which is really important to me but it too about 5 days to upload to Dropbox. Now I still can't upload it to Facebook or send it in an email as it's too large.

Any idea?

Do you have iMovie? I had a 6 mibute vid that i could upload anywhere as itwas to big but i downloaded the iMovie app (£2.99) and it sorted it for me. Not sure what exactly
