New laptop, forgotten my network security key

Am not techy at all! As above, am still using laptop connected to router. Have spent 1 hour on the phone with talktalk trying to get wireless connection. I have a lenovo g505 with windows8 and am finding it very hard to get around. Talktalk tried to access my router to get my wep key but i couldn't get anything up by typing in what i was told in the address bar. We gave up in the end, will i need a new router?

Is it not written on your router somewhere? Most boxes have a sticker or pull out bit that has the password on it.
