Windows 8 Phones - cheap with a good camera?

I currently have a HTC Desire S on a £15 contract with Virgin which I love but is starting to have a few issues so I think it's time to retire it. My contract has just finished & now I want a Windows 8 phone. My options from Virgin are the Lumia 520/625/720. I'm assuming I'd get the best deal staying with Virgin but would be happy to look elsewhere, especially given the limited selection available from Virgin.

I looked at the Lumias yesterday & found the corners didn't feel overly comfortable in my little hands. Are there cases available for them that might make it more comfortable to hold?

I currently get 200 mins, 3000 texts & 1GB of mobile internet. I use all the minutes, quite a bit of the internet & less than 10% of the texts. I'd be happy with a similar contract, although would prefer a few more minutes.

My main requirement is for a decent camera. I have 2 young DC & relatives in far flung places who love to see photos!

I'm pondering buying a sim-free phone & switching to a sim-only contract. Would that work out cheaper long-term? Or PAYG? We're on a tight budget as it is so can't afford a much more expensive contract than I currently have. We do have a bit in savings though which could cover the initial outlay of a mid-range phone.

I forget to get myself lunch on a regular basis at the moment - I have no headspace for making decisions like this! Blush Any advice would be gratefully received!

No-one wants to choose me a phone? That's alright - neither do I! Grin

If you are using 200 minutes a month, I wouldn't expect PAYG to be cheaper.

Why a Windows phone particularly?

I believe the Nokias' big selling point is the cameras, so they might not be a bad choice, as that's a priority for you.

You say you can't afford a much more expensive contract than you currently have, but you don't say what you are paying now?

I see you did give the price of your contract and I missed it. £10 per month for 2 years gets you a Lumia 510 and 250 minutes at Tesco.

Up that to £12.0 and you can get the HTC 8S.
