Kindle Fire appears to have died. Can anyone help?

Had a kindle Fire HD for a year. Past week had trouble charging it at times, having to wiggle charger a few times before it will charge. It charged earlier and son was playing on it for a while. Now the screen is completly blank and won't turn on. Doesn't appear to be charging either as the charging symbol not showing. Anyone know anything about kindle fires?

Have you tried holding the on/off button for 20 seconds? I have an ordinary KF and it stopped charging following a software update (not that I knew - I tried to charge it for months before I contacted Amazon and they told me what was wrong and replaced it).

Contact the amazon helpline and explain. They were brilliant when my (old style) kindle had problems. Couriered a new one and gave me a £10 voucher for my troubles :)

Have you tried a different charger?
