Thinking of buying one of these for my daughter. She would mainly use it for listening to music, games such as Minecraft and other apps and the camera.

Would I need an anti virus to put on this? Will I need a speaker?

Does anyone have them?

Thanks!

I have one and love it .

I don't have any antivirus on it (yet) though.

I play all sorts of media on it and don't need to use a speaker .But then again I'm just listening at normal radio type decibels. If your DD likes it really loud then a speaker would be needed.

The camera and video are good and there are loads of free apps to run. I also use mine as an ereader and it is excellent for this although the screen does reflect light which can be a drawback.

Thank you. I've only had apple products, do you buy the apps in the same way, just go to an app centre tab? Also how do you get music as I use iTunes on my ipad.

Is it quite easy to set up?

Sorry for all the questions!

I get apps from the play store just as you would from the apple store.I suppose you pay in much the same way once registered but as I have never yet paid for an app I couldn't say for sure.Thrre are loads to choose from and I've found its rare to need an app thats pay only , most have alternatives.

Sorry , I cant answer the music question for much the same reason. However , I have found everything to be very easy to set up so your Dd will no doubt be able to suss it out for herself (armed with your bank details of course)

I have AVG antivirus on mine, and it was about the first app I installed.

I don't think I've ever paid for an app. There is a music player, which I've never used - I do have a lot of BBC podcasts downloaded, though, which I tend to play instead of music.

All my kids have these. They are great little tablets.

We have the free avg from google play. It's great , just like the free one for PC. Put that on as the 1st thing you do.

Google play store functions just like apple apps store. I assume mine craft is a paid app?

The kids use headphones mostly but dd2 does use hers for music without. It's a slightly tinny radio type sound out loud ( but also not loud enough to bother the rest of the household ;) )

Depending on how old she is and what is acceptable to you please do put the tv apps on yourself and put the age restriction pin on (especially things like 4od and maybe YouTube ) I think you can also age restric the play music app. We'll unless dogging tales and sexbox are acceptable tv for her..
