Not sure what to do ,MN remains unaffected but a local forum and google searches seem to be covered in random pop ups .

Sorry to be dense . Any ( easy to follow ,not assuming too much prior knowledge ) appreciated .
Running Windows 8 .

What browser do you use? I use chrome and have the adblock add on and it's very effective.

I'm not sure what browser . I used to use Google Chrome and still do if I think of it . Somehow the default setting seems to have changed into something called Delta .
Is that easy to correct Blush ?

Thanks for your reply .

I don't really understand - google chrome logo thing appears in bar at bottom of screen ( the one that shows the windows you have open ) but if I click on it it says Triple Search . Is that still Google Chrome ? And if so how do I activate the ad pop up thing ?

Sigh .

Do you have an ad blocker that needs updating or has been deactivated?

SummerRain · 20/09/2013 11:19

Sounds odd.

Do you run antivirus scans fairly often? Some pop ups are basically methods of inserting a virus onto your computer, the basic windows firewall won't block all of them so you need to run a scan fairly often to keep the system clean.

If you do have chrome go to the google app store (should be an icon on your new tab screen) and search for ad block. However it sounds like there may be more going on than just pop ups, I haven't come across Delta or Triple Search which makes me think you may have some malware which has installed itself.

Ok, a quick google confirms that, delta is some sort of malware, theres an uninstall guide here

triplesearch seems to be related but if it doesn't get removed with that method there's another thread here with tips
