ipad or galaxy tab 2?

this has probably been done to death but what are the pros and cons for each? this will be our first tablet, used mainly for fb, games, you tube and other streaming and random internet stuff.

we have android phones at the mo so i know my way around play store etc and have never ventured into itunes or apple or anything.

any advice greatly appreciated

The apple fan club will say ipad.

I sit on the fence. I have an ipad (original one) and whilst the new ipads are thin and whizzy and fancy I'm not sure I'd be spending that much on what is really just a tablet.

Go have a look. You haven't said size. Certainly the Nexus 7 is a great little gadget. My kids have galaxy tab 2 (7inch) and think they are fab even almost a year from getting them last Xmas ( at not much ober £100 then).

Games/facebook/strreaming/random internet a good android tablet will be fine.

We'd like 10". 7 would just be too small.

if a budget tablet would do us fine what do the higher end ones do that those budget ones do not?

budget isn't a problem, within reason.

THe higher end ones eg the note 10 have " bonus features" ( the note 10 has a stylus and lots of lovely apps to go with that, that if you use them it's great at.

You need to look at the galaxy tab 2 against the ipad yourself in store ( and maybe a note?) the displays are not the same but the difference isn't that big. Clearly the higher end ones have more computer oomph etc too

Lastly to 3g or just Wifi- don't forget that choice.

happy with just 3g. will have to have a fiddle
