Printer to work with Ipad and laptops Win7 and Vista

Any suggestions for a printer that is very very easy to get to work with Ipads and Windows laptops?

My parents really struggle getting their Canon MP495 to be found via wireless. So ditching that and wanting something that simply works.

Is getting a printer with AirPrint capability worth the extra cost? Seems that may be the easiest way to get printer to work with ipads.

HP envy 120 - anyone got that, does it work simply?

It depends on how often your parents want to print out from the iPad.

Personally I hate wireless printing. It's so unreliable! I've gone back to using a cable.

HP printers are ok. The only criticism is you can't easily get cheap ink. Oh and their website for downloading drivers us a pile of poop.

The airprint solution is the only way (AFAICT) to get an iPad to print to a wireless printer.

I haven't yet met a wireless printer which was easy to keep working. Set up, yes. Get working, yes. But keep working in the way that a cabled one does? No sir. The technology is still fairly primitive, but it is better than it used to be.

I have a HP although not the one you mention. It works with iPad, iPhone and Macbook wirelessly with no hassle at all.
