Struggling to upload large files onto Vimeo/Youtube

I'm only doing one at a time & every time I walk away to do something else the laptop closes down (hibernates/saves energy - not sure what to call it) which I guess stops the up loading

So do I have to watch it?

Help?

I've had a go - it's a new computer with Windows 8 - it took me 10 minutes to find the control panel

That's working better but it is taking hours

Will this be the same if I use the cloud for storage?

If they are big files, uploading will take time regardless of where they are being sent. Upload speed on internet connections is often a lot lower than download speed.

Having the file as small as possible prior to sending it is best. So consider reducing the frame size. Your video editing software may give you the option to specify the frame size. The smaller the video image frame, the smaller amount of data is used to encode it. However it can then not be played back at a bigger viewing size without it pixelating (being able to see squares).

It failed because the electrics shorted out! Because my jinxed mother brought her washing here because her washing machine broke

So it;s only up to 33%

33% at 5pm, 90% at 9pm

It must be a big file. Hope it's finished now... though maybe it's still creeping up to 100%.
