Samsung galaxy S2 won't forward emails

Can anyone suggest a reason. It used to work. I removed Skype which had messed up DH's Note but still the emails on my S2 sit in the outbox and cannot be sent. Any thoughts. DH would be grudgingly impressed if the Angry Birds of Mumsnet have the answer. Thanks.

Have you checked that Mobile Data and/or Wi Fi are on?

RenterNomad · 13/06/2013 19:03

Is it gmail you are using, or the Samsung app?

If you're using a different (non-gmail) address, whuch you also check from a computer, maybe your ISP recently changed settings? Most have a page telling you your smpt server name, which number port, etc. Smtp is for outgoing mail, so concentrate on that.

Ah.thank you renternomad . I'll try that. Defo not the wifi or mobile data though , thanks habba.

Well I have restored some functions by changing to ymail instead of a Samsung app. Still tinkering but thanks for the help.

Does it now forward emails?

fusspot66 · 19/06/2013 12:03

May I ask for advice in my turn? What"s the yahoo app like? I find gmail very user-unfriendly, particularly trying to sort by sender, or by size of attachment, or subject. Does yahoo allow you to do any of that?

fusspot66 · 20/06/2013 08:41

It's a purple app button called ymail which was probably found initially by googling yahoo mail for Samsung.

Oops.
Never tried much sorting. Use laptop for that.
