Just been given a dell desktop optiplex 380. My router is on but it doesn't detect it. Just keeps telling me a cable is missing and giving me broadband as an option.
Computer came with no instructions. Is it possible that ithas no wifi capability or am i doing something wrong or do i need a wireless adapter and if so, what is that???
Thanks

No, that model (unless it has a different config in the uk?) didn't come with wifi as standard. As for what you need, either a network cable to hard wire it to one of the LAN sockets on your router, or the likes of this USB wifi adapter: www.maplin.co.uk/linksys-ae-2500-dual-band-wireless-n300-usb-adaptor-534747
