Logging into yahoo mail problems

i am completely stuck here I am trying to log into my yahoo mail, the one I use the whole time and I can't get in.

I know that the problem is that I am overseas but I am logging in from an Ip address I have used previously using a device I used previously, it keeps saying we don't recognise you answer this security question....

The question is what is the name of your best man ( I have no knowledge of ever using this as a security question

I was previously successful (at this address on this device) of changing this question

Now when I use this device and address to answer this questionk it tells me I'm wrong and Locke me out again.

Do I just need to forget this email address, I can see no way of contacting them, there isn't is there!!

I desperately need at access an email sent to me and I can't, what can I do next?

Not sure what you do next, but I lost yahoo access for a couple of days a week or two ago. I've largely shifted onto g-mail now as they were getting unreliable imo.

My yahoo is OK today though. They have allegedly got problems with market share and profitability and have drafted in someone from google to try and turn company around - but I've jumped ship.

This seems to be happening due to many Yahoo accounts being hacked at the moment. Mine was hacked in the early hours of yesterday, with several of my contacts being sent dodgy emails with clickable links. Luckily they were savvy enough to know not to and contacted me instead.
I've managed to trace my hacker to Bankok in Thailand and will be reporting them.
I then also had to answer security questions with Yahoo, and change my passwords! If they got their act together and made it more secure, this wouldn't happen.
....and like you BTP - I declined to give them my mobile number....as if they don't have enough detail already!
