Is my wifi operated by fairies? How is it still going?

We have a router which is not wireless attached to our pc and a dongle inserted so we can use wifi on our ipad.

Our pc died today and has been taken away to hopefully be resurrected. So the dongle has gone too.

How am i still getting wifi on my ipad, using our own sky wifi connection? I am not complaining about this, just flummoxed...

I must be a dimwit because i just don't understand, any wise tech advice appreicated thanks!

Maybe your router is wireless and you didn't realise?

Connecting to the neighbour's by mistake?

Defo not connected to neighbours as i checked our connection and it's ticked as ours and named.

Our pc is very elderly and until we had a dongle it never showed a wireless connection. Will have to inspect the router, again we've had it years. I really may be being a doofus as i'm running out of explanations for this!

Your router is wireless.its your pc thats not.I presume the dongle you put in the PC was a wireless dongle,that meant the PC could connect to the router by wifi,you could have dispensed with the cable.You never needed the dongle,you just connect the ipad to the sky router.
