all I want (ha ha) is, easy to use, ability to sync multiple devices, recurring expenses, good visually so you can see what's left in each budget, don't want to muck around putting expenses into multiple categories ....arrgghh help!!!

I've tried loads and none work!!!

Was going to suggest a spreadsheet (saved with your Google account in Docs Google 'Drive') but think it could be quite awkward to set up using a tablet or mobile.

However, if set up on a desktop/laptop, might do what you want... as you could view/edit on a mobile (assuming you have a suitable browser... I was using Dolphin).

I really like Expense Manager. You do use categories but can customise so you have as many or as few as you want. How are you going to run a budget without categories though? Confused

finally decided today to go with toshl. simple: add income, expenses, add a budget, add tags for budgets & expenses (categories?) voila, balance with or without planned expenses. it rocks. apart from the 12 quid per year price, but that's only 2 pints.
