I need a new printer; can I have recommendations?

I have had a HP photosmart (C7280) I have been happy with but I am open to suggestions

I bought a Canon MX890 a couple of months ago as it was recommended by Which. It's great for me and you can get cheap ink cartridges which it still registers (last printer didn't).
I work from home and have found this great so far.

I have an HP which does everything but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as the wireless connection seems fairly temperamental. However, I would recommend the place I bought it from - here - quick delivery and good prices (also got cash back via Quidco )

I print lots of photos (9 mini photos on ordinary paper - but maybe 15+ sheets a week)

Any more ideas/suggestions?

Canon MG4150. Wireless and so far very good. But as with all of them, the ink is not so cheap! I've tried non-Canon ink before and regretted it....

Scan/print/copy/double sided/booklet printing etc.

I would avoid trying to get all in one. Given print volume you may be better to get a colour laser (prices are a lot lower than they were 10 years ago). Then have separate scanner.

I know space is probably at a premium so it may not be an option.

Consider what material you print on, just paper or do you print onto stickers, t-shirt transfers.

consider print speed, just one copy or are your printing lots of the same thing.

Wireless printing, remote printing such as from mobile whilst on outing.

Look at cartridge cost. If you print mostly in certain colours it can be worth having separate colour inks/toner.

Recent canon Wireless printers I have found a pain to configure. Not sure they are true wireless as won't connect direct to device, have to use router. Is that the case with all printers?

you need to look at the cost over time. Price per page. The more you print the more cost effective I feel a laser printer is over an inkjet. At home I have had mono and colour lasers over the past 10 years. Mono are really cheap now... if you any bulk printing in just black, then a mono laser can be good. Such as documents for parents perhaps, or for printing out that big EYFS document each time the Government decide to change it.

Colour is harder to justify but it comes down to volume I feel. A toner cartridge can print 3000 pages. Sure they cost more but they tend to print a lot more pages for each cartridge replacement.
