you tube running slow on laptop

does anyone know why this would happen?
the songs are loading fine but when playing it sounds like the batteries are running low like on an old cassette player.
laptop is plugged into mains.

The only thing I can think of is that you have selected the HD video option but your broadband can't handle the speed.

I suggest that you check the quality setting. The icon on the task bar looks like a wheel cog.
