I'm sure there's a quick solution to this, but I can;'t for the life of me work it out.

I'm in excel and I've done something so that when I press one of the arrow keys, instead of moving to the next cell, it moves the whole spreadsheet.

It's driving me nuts. Can anyone tell me how to switch it back to normal.
I am using Excel for Mac btw.

Thanks in advance.

Check you haven't got scroll lock on, that normally happens to me when I've pressed it.

ElizaCBennett · 25/03/2013 10:39

Yes, I think switch scroll lock off!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 25/03/2013 10:40

YY scroll lock, or if you have a wheel mouse, sometimes if the scroller has been held down too long it can do funny things....

The ESC key is your friend (Or MAC equivalent...)

MardyBra · 25/03/2013 10:41

OK trying to find scroll lock on mac

escape key.
Other solution is to quit and restart.

MardyBra · 25/03/2013 10:45

It's been like this for a couple of weeks now, so escape and quitting not much good so far.

Nothing on help function for scroll lock.

Now googling

OK, I've sound something telling me scroll lock is f14 on a mac keyboard. My keyboard only goes up to f12.

OP posts:
SayCoolNowSayWhip · 25/03/2013 10:50

Try F14

Sorry! Sorry! X posted.... Blush

Are you able to get an onscreen keyboard and do it that way? I don't know Macs but on Windows you go Start, Accessories, Ease of Access and On Screen Keyboard...

MardyBra · 25/03/2013 10:59

OK I've done it (no thanks for SayCool) by following
this:gigaom.com/2008/09/24/mac-101-get-an-onscreen-keyboard-in-osx/

I got an onscreen virtual keyboard with an f14 button.
Will have to do some work now.

This is your problem, OP.

MardyBra · 25/03/2013 11:00

Oh sorry SayCool. I missed that and was googling while you posted.

Glad it's fixed Mardy Grin

lljkk · 25/03/2013 11:02

Try this:

"Try Fn + Shift + F12 (nice)

I found this on the MacBook Pro boot camp site:

support.apple.com/kb/HT1220"
