Pixelated home movies

I've been editing my pictures (a seriously long job!!)
I have quite a few .avi files that replay very pixelated on the laptop screen, can anyone advise how to fix this please?
Once I've done that, can anyone suggest how to be able to show them to the kids on the tv (how would I link them together on a DVD, most of them are less than a minute short).
I don't have a mac though I do have an iPad.
TIA

Were the avi videos taken by an old phone? Its just that the cameras on old phones have poor resolution (by today's standards) so when you play it back on any screen larger than a phone it's gonna look 'pixelated'. If that is the case then there isn't much you can do about that.

You can buy PC software that will join your videos together with fade in and out, do titles, add mood music etc and then burn onto DVD for about £40. I don't have any recommendations but you can go to Amazon.co.uk and search for 'video editing software' and read the customer reviews.

Thank you, some of them could be from an old phone, I think others are from an old video camera. I also think I probably have videos on tapes that I need to get off the old camcorder, I'll go investigate that too I think

RE video tapes, if you have a DVD recorder then you just need relevant cable to connect the two boxes.

Otherwise you need a £40 gadget from Maplin, Curry's or PC World that sits between your VHS player and PC
