So has the IPad 1 had it?

Having had my iPad 1 since the beginning I'm finding more and more glitches and things that won't work properly anymore. I know the updates stopped at IOS 5, I think because it doesn't have the capabilities to run iOS 6 or higher.

It seems to have lots of issues with password protected sites and as they are updated it doesn't run smoothly anymore. For example, my Facebook sometimes doesn't recognise my password and it won't let me log in if I click the keep me logged in button.

Other sites often crash or throw me out and I'm getting really frustrated with it. It seems to have got worse since I got the iPhone 5 and started syncing that with my iTunes account. I don't know if this is because it's running IOS 6 and everything else has updated so it clashes with stuff on my iPad that won't update.

So is the iPad really obsolete after only 3 1/2 years or so and if I am going to upgrade what is in the pipeline? After the debacle of iPad 3 being withdrawn after 6 months is the new operating system of the 4 / retina / whatever theyve confusingly called it, here to stay for long enough to be worthwhile to upgrade now? I was always 1 behind with the iPhone (3GS/4S) and seemed to miss out on the big changes.

DD has iPad 4 and comparing it I can see its brilliant as compared to my 1.

Nothing wrong with ipad 1. Ipad 4 is just faster, with a camera is all.

Instead of using websites for MN, etc, download the apps from the App store.
