Facebook - friends status updates - why aren't I seeing them all?

Was thinking that one of my friends had been (unusally) very quiet on FB recently... went to check her wall to make sure all was ok and there have been loads of status updates. And on further investigation several other people I thought maybe weren't using FB very often but are... looked through my settings and can't work out what's going on. Any ideas please?

There are some algorithms on FB which try to predict which friends you wish to know about and which you don't. So if you don't click on a certain friend for a while then they go down the priority list.

Best bet is to click on their profile, choose Friends -> Settings -> All updates.

maybe its their settings rather than yours as they can set it to only show certain friends posts that they make.

Do what nice guy suggests some of my friends were set to only important updates instead of all.

thank you - being a bit thick here but trying to do as niceguy2 says ("Best bet is to click on their profile, choose Friends -> Settings -> All updates") but can't find how to do this?

if you click on the person you want then on their page there is a box with a tick that says Friends (underneath the main photo) - if you click on that box then you get the menu, one of which is Settings and then choose All Updates
