iPad - would it do this ???

Thinking of using gift money to buy iPad.

One of the things I think Imight use it for is all family dates/appts etc - was therefore wondering out loud what the calendar function is like ?

Also:

at the mo I tend to write a diary - nothing earth shattering but now I have a DS like to record things he has done/said. Can you attach a document to the calendar & if so is it formattable, easy to back up & printable? was thinking this way would be more user friendly , could add bits easier & in the future be able to read it .

Dunno about the iPad calendar itself, but I use google calendar synchronised to all my devices ( laptop phone iPad and also to DH and the kids devices ). You can certainly attatch memos within that .

Like Theas, I do everything via Google calendar now -- that synchronises automatically to the iPad and to my phone.

If you're going to use Google Calendar, then you're better off with an Android tablet. All the Google stuff works much better through Android and the iPad priced tablets are much better than iPads anyway!

Love my ipad we bought one to replace our laptop when it died. I use it to manage the house and the kids and its brilliant as are the apps. I love the calendar feature and the iBooks app, the school sends parents info on PDF and I can send it all to one place. Oh and you can send trainline booked ticket and times info to the diary, I love that. Plus it's easy to use and lighter to take around unlike the laptop was.
