Is there a way of improving your mobile reception?

My phone has terrible reception in most parts of my home - ideally I would buy a plug in device like Vodafone's Sure Signal to boost the reception but my phone provider doesn't have an equivalent. Is there anything (straightforward) that I can do to help?

So is it a new 4G phone, or one of their Nokia models, or a Samsung, or ...

Not 4G - it's a Samsung galaxy 3.

I used to buy Aerial boosters for our mobiles.

I dont know if they helped but they didnt do any harm either.

Mine is shocking at home too. Perfect everywhere else but rubbish at home 20 miles outside London Hmm

I live in London - zone 2, so fairly central - and my home just seems to be in a EE hole. My husband can use his O2 phone, guests can use phones on other networks but I can't use mine Angry.

missnevermind - I'd heard those insert things didn't really work so I was looking for some sort of plug in box that could boost the signal. I only need it at home - like Gwendoline, I'm fine everywhere else.
